NEW AERODYNAMICS CELEBRATES THIS YEAR 30 YEARS OF ACTIVITY IN THE WORLD OF CONVERTING. "WHERE THERE IS PRODUCTION, THERE ARE DEAD", RECITES THE COMPANY CLAIM, BUT WHERE THERE IS NEW AERODYNAMICS EVERYTHING SHOULD NOT REPRESENT A PROBLEM. WE WERE TO FIND PAOLO RADAELLI, SALES MANAGER OF THE COMPANY, TO RESTORE THE MOST IMPORTANT STEPS FROM 1984 TO TODAY AND TO TALK ABOUT THE TECHNOLOGICAL NOVELTIES DEDICATED TO THE TRANSFORMERS.
New Aerodinamica for thirty years is a qualified partner in the field of trimming processing from industrial production. Thanks to specific know-how, the Casazza company in the province of Bergamo, is in fact able to provide suitable solutions for the treatment of production waste for paper mills, plastic films, aluminum, boxes, paper and binders. Scraps that are necessarily to be removed for a variety of needs, not only practices to obstruct work and the order of the same, but often and above all, for the hygienic quality of the environment and the health protection of employees in compliance with current regulations. The trimming treatment plant is very often underestimated, we tend to trivialize its importance due to the fact that this technology does not produce anything, but is an aid so that the production machines can work in perfect conditions and therefore be optimized to the maximum. This technology therefore plays an important role in processing companies; is a bit like the role of the midfielder who has to run and fight to serve the assist at the tip that finalizes the game. This comparison of football type is also perfectly suited for the trimming treatment plant, which must help the production machine to guarantee maximum performance, through an important but discreet presence. A complete experience in the entire graphic, paper and converting sector has allowed New Aerodinamica to build a wealth of experience, from the simplest to the most complex, with cutting-edge technological solutions customized to customer needs. We went to see Paolo Radaelli Sales Manager at New Aerodinamica, in the company since 1997, with whom we retraced the most important stages of the family business, founded by his father Angelo.
Let's go over the most important stages of New Aerodinamica, from the foundation to today, how are you structured?
"New Aerodinamica employs young and dynamic staff including three technicians, three secretaries and a single administrator, each with specific and distinct skills to cover all phases of the realization of a project: from the fact-finding visit to the customer up to the final invoicing .
New Aerodinamica has a single office divided into two areas: technical / commercial offices where the design is done and commercial practices are followed and a warehouse where the parts of the plant are stored before being delivered and assembled ".
Who addresses New Aerodinamica and with which specific needs?
"Customers range from small family-run businesses to international groups, and requests range from simple maintenance, through improvements to existing systems, and even new complete systems".
What is the sector, among all those served, which represents your core business?
"Our true core-business is the paper industry, in fact New Aerodinamica can be said to have been born in the paper factory by installing its first fan in the distant 1978. From that date when the production machines had a very low speed (5-600mt / min), we arrived at the latest installations today where we can reach even the 2,800mt / min. In those years, since this technology was at the beginning there was a lot of experimentation, but also a lot of collaboration with the end user.
Having to keep up with the technological evolution of the rewinder manufacturers, we have also adapted ourselves, making our fans more and more performing. Starting from the paper mill we immediately had to be reliable, as it was not conceivable to install systems that could provoke sensitive production stops, therefore, every installation followed inevitable improvements. This was our strong point and we transferred the know-how acquired in the paper mill to other sectors (paper converting, corrugators, bookbinding ...) with excellent results. These unavoidable implementations, necessary to keep pace with the machine manufacturers, have also given us many professional satisfactions: we were the first company to realize waste suction systems on the only two rewinders in Italy with a speed of 2,800mt / min. Compared to the beginnings, the aspect that has changed the most is the customer's approach to the supplier, who does not want to experiment anymore but requires a finished and efficient product; this has pushed us to be more reactive to any request or problem ".
Let's talk about the technological solutions for the flexible converting sector (labels, aluminum, plastic films ...)
"In the flexible converting sector, our strength is undoubtedly our solution with an injector system. In practice, trimmings (plastic, flexible, labels ...) are vacuumed and transported continuously without being shredded or chopped. This entails considerable advantages and reduces maintenance work to zero, dustiness in the discharge area and adjustments according to the thicknesses. Replacements with our system are increasingly required.
In the last 2 years we have installed 7 complete lines at a Spanish plant, part of a European group, on cutters with a speed of 750mt / min, aspiring and transporting trimmings of labels with a line distance of about 150 meters ".
What is New Aerodinamica's approach to sustainability?
"For several years now we have been adopting systems aimed at energy saving as inverter drives (to optimize speeds and cancel peaks at departures), electro-welded transport pipes with tight joints (to avoid air leaks on the line that would require more fan speed), high efficiency transmission belts (reduction of friction and heat dissipation) heat recovery subtracted in the department during the operation of the fans by replenishing the filtered air through a filtration in stages and micro-perforated diffuser bags.
The combination of these and other aspects inevitably lead to plants with significantly lower energy consumption. The search for new technical solutions is in the DNA of New Aerodinamica for thirty years. Many see this aspect as "spending and wasting time", while for us it is an investment in the future, our philosophy is to always look for a better system that can facilitate the management and use of the plants ".
What technological innovations do you have ready to be launched shortly on the market?
"The technological innovations are on the agenda and I think that in a period like this is the winning weapon: having new solutions and ideas can create new outlets and strengthen customer confidence. The characteristics that differentiate us are the proposal of ad hoc and customized solutions, taking into account all the increasingly restrictive regulations in force regarding safety and efficiency. Paper and flexible materials is a constantly evolving sector that has also involved our corporate growth process. I joined the company in 1997 and today, if I look at the plants built in recent years, there is a technological abyss compared to our previous achievements. In recent years, in fact, we have made radical decisions on the components and technological solutions to be adopted, focusing on excellence in terms of quality ".
